Doug is spearheading a master plan for the entire Aquarium campus to be implemented over the next 12 years.

Doug fought to save the Pacific Coast Club, the Jergins Trust Building and other city landmarks. He success-fully lobbied to create the position of Neighborhood and Historic Preservation Officer and helped write an ordi-nance to prevent the demolition of designated landmarks without replace projects in place. For his work in pro-tecting the city’s architectural and historic buildings, Doug was named Preservationist of the Year.
