Doug fought to save the Pacific Coast Club, the Jergins Trust
Building and other city landmarks. He success-fully lobbied
to create the position of Neighborhood and Historic Preservation
Officer and helped write an ordi-nance to prevent the demolition
of designated landmarks without replace projects in place. For
his work in pro-tecting the city’s architectural and historic
buildings, Doug was named Preservationist of the Year.

of our community while protecting our neighborhoods.
